Within Ernst &Young's Tax Operations, our Financial Services group is dedicated to the delivery of compliance solutions to clients in the financial services arena. Our talented and dedicated FSI professionals deliver compliance solutions to many types of entities including hedge funds, mutual funds, broker dealers, banks, property and casualty insurance companies and life insurance companies.
We currently have an excellent career opportunity for a Tax Compliance Specialist. Using cutting-edge technology and working with team-oriented colleagues, the successful candidate will be responsible for securing and analyzing client tax data used in the preparation and/or review of tax compliance products.
Responsibilities:
Interface with clients and team members to secure tax data. Collect/convert tax compliance data into an electronic format. Formulate a plan to gather/communicate information to the client and complete accurate compliance products.
Analyze data and prepare workpapers based on professional standards. Determine the accuracy/completeness of the compliance product, perform quality assurance procedures, and prepare the product for delivery. Assist professionals in using technological tools.
Establish/maintain long-term working relationships with clients. Share knowledge to develop professionally and enhance service delivery. Provide supervision to staff and peers. Participate in recruiting efforts when necessary. Leverage technology to maximize productivity.

Requirements
This position offers excellent opportunities to learn and tremendous career potential. To qualify, candidates must have:
- a Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 2 years of tax-related or other relevant experience; or an Associate's degree in a related field and 4-5 years of tax-related or other relevant experience
- knowledge of current automated tax processing systems and tax laws within an area of technical specialization
- proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- excellent interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving ability
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- a commitment to learning in a tax technology environment
