Purpose:
The position is a Network Controller, which would be responsible for
the day to day operation and management of the Defense Information Systems Agency?s (DISA) Super WAN known as the DISN (Defense Information System Network). The position is located at Scott Air Force Base in O?Fallon,IL which is located just 25 to 30 minutes outside of St. Louis, MO. This network touches nearly every United States military installation worldwide. Duties to include: optimization of bandwidth, expeditious fault identification and resolution, and data quality for site and customer support globally. Coordinate troubleshooting efforts with a wide variety of government, military and commercial organizations and technicians. Experienced in the areas of long haul data, satellite/microwave, voice, and point to point circuits. Also experienced with the following equipment: Integrated Digital Network Exchange (IDNX) and Promina switching equipment. Candidate also needs to be familiar with SONET and ESONET networks. This is a six month to permanent position. CANDIDATE MUST HAVE A SECURITY CLEARANCE
