| ARCHITECT |
|
Serves as the senior project architect for assigned major military design projects in the District. Serves as leading designer on selected projects, which are principally of an architectural character. Performs detailed architectural technical review of assigned military project designs provided by A-E firms. Design reviews are accomplished in accordance with District policies & procedures for Design Quality Assurance. Participates and is actively involved in life cycle project management. Visits the sites of proposed or existing projects to gather and/or interpret design data, assist in the interpretation of plans & specifications and recommend revisions to design documents to accommodate field conditions. Performs other duties as assigned. Safety work practices are an integral part of this position. Incumbent is required to know, comply with, and promote prescribed safety rules and regulations.
To qualify, applicants must possess 1 year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience developing general & detailed drawings, design analyses, computations & calculations, & technical specificatiosn for architectural features of assigned design projects using computer-aided design & drafting systems. Bachelor's degree directly related to this occupation & 1 year experience directly related to this occupation equivalent to the next lower grade level.
