FIELD OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATOR
Vegetation Management Unit
The Santa Clara Valley Water District is responsible for the water supply, flood protection and watershed management in Santa Clara County. The District encompasses all of the county’s 1,300 square miles and serves the area’s 15 cities, 1.7 million residents and more than 200,000 commuters. Our responsibilities flow from our dual missions: to provide high quality water, and to manage flood and storm waters along the county’s 700 miles of creeks and rivers.
DUTIES: To supervise and coordinate the activities and operations of the Vegetation Management Unit of the Technical Services Division; areas of responsibility include construction projects, landscaping, grounds maintenance, confined space entry, vegetation management and operation of complex recharge and water distribution systems; to coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public; and to provide highly responsible staff assistance to the Vegetation Unit Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four years of responsible field construction, maintenance, or raw water distribution/groundwater recharge experience including one year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience, and equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade supplemented by college level course work in engineering or a related field. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver's license may be required. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid qualified applicator's certificate as assigned by position. Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid confined space attendant certificate.

SALARY: $4,971 - $6,057 per month - Based on a five-step salary plan. Includes District payment of 7% PERS.
